How long are the training sessions good for after purchase?
30 days is our standard policy – you have one month from purchase to utilize your sessions, unless given written approval for extenuating circumstances by Coach Carlisle. Don’t worry though, our athletes who see the best results train an average of 1.5-2x per week, so you’ll have no problem using your sessions!
How do I register for a training package for my sessions?
The easiest way to register is with our mobile app! Available on both iOS and Google Play, you can purchase additional training packages, see available training sessions and reserve your spot. You can also do all of that on our website.
If I’ve got an Athletic Development Academy package, can I use my sessions for F.A.S.T. School?
Yes! Take advantage of our F.A.S.T. School at the new King’s Academy Speed Site, and you’re welcome to exchange any Athletic Development Academy session for a beginner or advanced F.A.S.T. School session. You still have to book your session and reserve your spot, so login to your account or use the app!
What kind of results can I expect from my training at Carlisle Performance?
Our athletes are achieving their best results when they commit to training an average of 1.5 or 2 times per week. Training consistently like that results in all around improvements – speed, agility, quickness, strength, and power (including jumping).
What’s the difference between the “Pay as You Go” and the “Membership”?
Members get a 10% discount (requires 3 month commitment to receive discount). It’s also our most popular payment choice.
By signing on as a member, it lets us know you’re just as committed as we are and we want to reward that! It also makes it easier to get up to the 6 or 8 session package to achieve maximal results. Even with the membership, you’re free to cancel at any time (providing a 7-day notice) and we’ll opt you out of your membership.
What happens if I register for class and I’m waitlisted?
If you end up getting waitlisted for class, a Carlisle Performance coach will get with you as soon as we confirm availability and let you know if you can attend that class.
What is the coach-to-athlete ratio?
The capped athlete ratio is one coach to four athletes.
As it stands with our current system, we’ve been even more personalized with one coach for every two to three athletes per session.
If I’ve purchased F.A.S.T. School, can I use one of my sessions to try the Athletic Development Academy?
YES! We’d love to see you experience the Academy. You still have to book your session and reserve your spot, so login to your account or use the app!
What makes your Speed Profile & Assessment so unique?
Created by coach Duane Carlisle, the CPP Speed Profile is a culmination of his 25+ years of coaching experience, combined with the science of objective measurement to determine your limiting factors. We use top-of-the-line and state-of-the-art testing equipment to generate a profile unique and specific to you.
If I already have a strength and conditioning coach, how will training with Carlisle Performance be different?
Coach Carlisle has conducted over 10,000 speed sessions and has worked with athletes at every level of competition. Given the uniqueness of the CPP Speed Profile we’ll be generating for you, your plan will be specific to your needs for improving game speed.
What is your refund policy if I’m unable to attend all four F.A.S.T. School sessions?
We highly recommend pushing sessions out for a later date rather than cancelling or refunding them. However, we do approve written refund requests for reasons (such as injuries).
Should I bring water to my sessions?
Absolutely!
Hydration should be a priority wherever you go.
What happens in the event of inclement weather?
If there is inclement weather, you’ll receive notification via our app (be sure to have notifications turned on!) within 12 hours of your F.A.S.T. School session. Coach Carlisle will send out notice if the session is cancelled or relocated to the alternate location (the Strength & Power Center located at 1373 S. Bascom Ave, San Jose, CA 95128).
Do you conduct off-site personal training?
Yes, we do! For an additional charge, we can come to your home or meet you at a site of your choosing.
Note: With the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) in San Jose, we will be increasing our at-home training availability to help reduce the spread.
Are assessments for teams, too? Or, just individuals?
We test both individuals and teams. We can even add tests if you have a specific testing requirement for your team.
What’s the best way to book training sessions?
You can book either through our app or logged in online right here at our website. Top right corner with your username and password 🙂
What’s the difference between Carlisle Performance and Lightning Fast Training Systems?
Lightning Fast Training Systems (LFS) was founded in 1994 in Philadelphia, PA by Coach Duane Carlisle and is the parent company of Carlisle Performance.
What if I’m having problems registering or booking a session?
Most booking difficulties occur when booking a session that takes place that day. Within one hour of a session you’re unable to book a session online, but you can call us at 609-638-1200 to check immediate availability for that session.
What separates Carlisle Performance from a high school strength conditioning program and other programs?
Coach Carlisle is a national leader in the performance field and draws on his 25+ years of experience coaching at every level to product a training system individualized for you. Our scientific approach using state-of-the-art technology and equipment (e.g. force plates) provides us the ability to dial in on exactly what you need, and get you results at every level.
How do I find out about other Carlisle Performance programs and events?
Stay up to date by signing up text message notifications. These include notices for sudden closings, changes in schedule, and so forth via the Lightning Fast app.
Do you have a referral program?
Yes, we encourage you to bring in friends, teammates, and colleagues.
Do you conduct one day events for corporations or team building?
Absolutely! We put together events specific to your organization with your purpose in mind. Reach out to Coach Duane Carlisle for details.
Do you have online training during Coronavirus (COVID-19) lockdown?
YES! We are able to offer online personal training and coaching during the social-distancing circumstances we are all finding ourselves in during the coronavirus quarantine attempt.

How does the registration process work for F.A.S.T. School?
F.A.S.T. School is a four-week program, so we recommend registering for all four sessions.
They’re progressive in nature and will build upon each other. If you can’t commit to all four sessions, there is what we call a “drop-in” option where you can choose a session ahead of time to drop in on.
How does the Intro to F.A.S.T. School work?
To get a taste for the full F.A.S.T. School, we offer a one-time intro session to experience what it’s like training with Carlisle Performance. While you will go through an actual training session, the intro class does not include the CPP Speed Profile.
What’s the difference between the Basic F.A.S.T. School and the Advanced F.A.S.T. School?
The Basic F.A.S.T. School begins with the CPP Speed Profile and then three subsequent sessions to learn the basics of running mechanics, lateral movement, and multi-directional movement. After completing the Basic F.A.S.T. School, you automatically move on to the Advanced F.A.S.T. School where you’ll continue learning advanced techniques for maximal speed development. These advanced techniques include things such as progression to reaction, game speed, plyometrics, advanced resistance training, functional resistance training.
What exactly do the assessments identify?
No matter which assessment and profile you choose, we will identify what your athlete’s weakest link is to help them improve their overall athletic performance. In addition, we’ll be able to identify your athlete’s strongest links are so we can make the strong stronger.
In essence, the tests are a composite of a certain athletic development skill, which can provide both coaches and the athlete with information to help improve overall performance.
What is the difference between the tests?
The Carlisle Athletic Assessment & Profile (CAP) is the most comprehensive assessment we have. It includes the testing metrics from each of the three subset assessments (Speed, Jump, and Fitness), culminating in a comprehensive profile of the entire athlete.
The Lightning Fast Speed Assessment & Profile measures acceleration, top end speed, change of direction and asymmetries which may be present between right and left sides.
The Lightning Fast Jump Assessment & Profile measures how fast and explosive you are, how quickly you get off the ground, how high you jump, and any right/left asymmetries while jumping.
The Fitness Assessment & Profile is Carlisle Performance’s upgraded version of the standard fitness tests. Not only do we include the usual fitness assessments like push ups and pull ups, but we measure body composition and conduct a movement assessment as well.
There are also the sports-specific profiles that have different metrics pertaining to the sport.
How often should I retest?
We recommend testing every six weeks as a way to gauge whether the program you’re doing is improving performance. At Carlisle Performance we assess, we don’t guess.
Our programs are backed by science and get results, so we love assessment time. It’s where you get to show off your gains!
If you’re not yet training with us, you can still come in for an assessment every six weeks to ensure the training you’re doing is as effective as it can be.
Are assessments for teams, too? Or, just individuals?
We test both individuals and teams. We can even add tests if you have a specific testing requirement for your team.
How will I access my results?
You’ll receive a login and password to view your results within 48 hours. Another cool feature we offer is longitudinal viewing – meaning if you test every six weeks (as we recommend) you’ll be able to see your test results over time so track your progress and compare some before and after results.
Will I receive normative data for the test?
We do not provide normative data because our emphasis for all our assessments is for you as an individual. Everything we do is custom-to-you based on your starting points and your strengths and weaknesses.
How often are my results assessed?
We conduct assessments at the beginning of a training program, which you’ll be able to see those results.
Then we typically conduct another assessment after six weeks to show the progress that’s been made.
With our high testing standards, we provide objective data which demonstrates the performance data gained while part of a Carlisle Performance training program.
How long does the body composition test take?
An insanely-fast 45 SECONDS.
How accurate is this test?
This is one of the most comprehensive, time-tested body composition tests available. You will get precise measurements and data-points covering much more than just your body fat and lean mass.
Can I eat prior to the test?
Do not eat 2-3 hours prior to the beginning of the test.
Can I exercise prior to the test?
Do not exercise 2-3 hours prior to the beginning of the test.
How often should I test?
We recommend testing every 4-6 weeks depending on your goals.
Will the test give me my BMR?
Yes! You will find out what your Basal Metabolic Rate is during the test. Knowing your BMR will help you decide a plan of action when it comes to “calories in, calories out”, depending on your goal of either muscle gain or fat loss.

Our athletes are achieving their best results when they commit to training an average of 1.5 or 2 times per week. Training consistently like that results in all around improvements – speed, agility, quickness, strength, and power (including jumping).
What’s the difference between the trial session and my first package session?
During a trial session we want you to get the real deal! So you’ll experience an actual training session to get a feel for how the program works.
Once you purchase a package, the first session will be an assessment so we have our baseline for where you’re at and can develop a program custom to your individual needs.
What level of coaching can I expect to receive, and will Coach Carlisle be at all my sessions?
Coach Carlisle hasn’t just coached athletes at all levels (from youth to professional), he’s also coached thousands of coaches at those levels.
No matter if Coach Carlisle is present at your training session (which he tries to be at them all!), you’ll be receiving some of the premier coaching in the Silicon Valley from each of the coaches at Carlisle Performance.
What’s the difference between the “Pay as You Go” and the “Membership”?
Members get a 10% discount (requires 3 month commitment to receive discount). It’s also our most popular payment choice.

Even with the membership, you’re free to cancel at any time (providing a 7-day notice) and we’ll opt you out of your membership.
If no sessions are available for my training package, can I reserve a spot in another one?
If you’re registered for an Athletic Development Academy training package and only sessions from other levels are available, you can absolutely still sign up! We limit the training sessions to 4-6 athletes so with 2 or 3 coaches available, we’ll be able to accommodate another level and ensure your child meets their training needs.
What happens if I register for class and I’m waitlisted?
If you end up getting waitlisted for class, a Carlisle Performance coach will get with you as soon as we confirm availability and let you know if you can attend that class.
Will my child get a take-home program?
While we send most of our athletes home with exercises and areas of focus for when they’re not training with us, we do not send individualized programs home as part of the training package. If you’re interested in a take-home program for an additional cost, let a Carlisle Performance Coach know and we’ll begin the programming!

F.A.S.T. School is a four-week program, so we recommend registering for all four sessions.

What is the difference between programs operated at the facility in San Jose and Kings Academy?
At our Strength and Power Facility in San Jose, the programs are focused on developing strength, power, flexibility, mobility, short area quickness and ultimately improving ability to move from point A to point B. The coach to athlete ratio is at most one to four which allows for individual attention while working with our state-of-the-art equipment.
At Kings Academy, we have 4,000 square yards of turf to operate our F.A.S.T. (Functional Athletic Speed Training) programs. As the name implies, those programs are speed intensive, working on linear speed, long speed, top speed, and multi-directional movement with the goal of improving overall game speed. Kings Academy is also where we conduct our assessments.
Currently the program times for Kings Academy are limited.
