Carlisle Performance Systems is now accepting applications for 3-5 Volunteer Sports Performance Interns for SUMMER 2020.
The internship will last from May 26 2020 – July 30 2020. Interns will gain practical experience working and coaching in an Elite Private Sector Training environment with at least 10 different sports, possible future recommendations, and college credit if applicable.
You must be working towards completing a degree in Sports Sciences, Kinesiology or a related field. CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications; attributes including hardworking, passionate, detail oriented, and has the desire to work in the strength & conditioning field.
Bonus qualifications include intern/coaching experience, and current/previous competitive sport involvement.
Daily maintenance of the facility and all its equipment, setup and breakdown of weight room and field for all training sessions, daily athlete tracking, and assisting in the coaching of those sessions. Interns will also learn and assist with velocity-based training technology and how to effectively design training programs using our proprietary Carlisle Athletic Profile.
This program will also consist of weekly educational projects/readings and reports to further develop S&C knowledge and coaching ability.

This is an internship position with a $500 stipend for a 10 week commitment (10 hours per week).
Duties & Responsibilities:
Implement strength, agility, speed, flexibility and conditioning programs with the student-athletes, including technique instruction, demonstration of techniques and skills, motivation, development of discipline, testing and evaluation of athletes performance related to
area of sports performance.
Must demonstrate a high energy level at all times.
Ability to communicate effectively with both coaches and athletes.
Must be able to work with all coaches and athletes
Knowledge of sport-specific fundamentals, techniques, and safety rules & regulations.
Ability to analyze, interpret, communicate, and adhere to Carlisle Performance Systems procedures,
rules, and regulations.
Excellent communication (oral & written), planning, organizational, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
Ability to influence and build positive relationships among diverse individuals including: student-athletes, parents, coaches, staff, and students.
Knowledge of the physiological adaptations of the human body to active exercise; of teaching the safe and correct techniques in execution of weight training, speed development and conditioning.
Knowledge in the use of weight training equipment (isotonic, isokinetic, isometric, variable resistant) is needed. Ability to motivate and evaluate specific individual psychic and physical needs
-Working towards a BA/BS degree in Sports Sciences, Kinesiology or a related field.
Stipend & Time Requirement:
This is a $500 stipend at the end of the summer.
15-20 hours per week commitment during this time period.
Ability to work in the early morning is required.
No monetary compensation, meals, or housing will be provided.
